FireID MAS unveils mobile authentication solution

FireID aims to provide a two-factor, one-time-password (OTP) authentication solution for a multitude of applications, by generating secure passwords on user’s mobile phones.

Taking the inconvenience out of bulky hardware token or SMS-based authentication solutions, FireID has developed technology which is designed to allow any user with a mobile phone to generate secure, random one-time-passwords for FireID protected resources. The system is targeted at all businesses looking to minimise damaging identity fraud and lower administration costs, while using the widespread network of SA mobile phone users.

FireID was designed to take advantage of global cellphone saturation, while also allowing seamless integration into existing business systems. This aims to allow companies to use the FireID technology within their existing user base, without purchasing costly new systems or hardware platforms.
